Careful popcorn texture removal with full protection, skim coating and smooth, freshly painted ceilings.
Popcorn ceilings were everywhere in the decades before the nineties, and they have become the hallmark of a dated house. The texture collects dust, hides nothing well and makes a room look lower and darker. Removing it is messy work and needs a plan. Homes built before the mid-eighties may contain asbestos in the texture, so testing before disturbing it is a wise step, and we point it out. Once removed and smoothed, the ceiling is clean, bright and modern, and it also makes painting and lighting changes easier.
We ask about the age of the home and recommend testing for older ceilings before work begins. When it is safe to proceed, we cover floors and walls with plastic, mist and scrape the texture, repair seams and gouges, skim coat as needed and sand smooth. We then prime and paint the ceiling a flat white or your chosen color. We contain dust, clean thoroughly and leave the room ready for light fixtures, fans and decor to shine against a clean, smooth plane.

Plastic sheeting, misting and careful scraping keep dust and mess controlled.
Skim coating and sanding leave a clean, flat surface that looks modern and takes paint evenly.
The ceiling is primed and painted so you end with a finished, bright space.
