Questions

Painting questions, answered plainly.

About interior and exterior painting, cabinets, drywall repair, colors, timing and cost.

Getting started

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. The Free Estimate comes with no obligation. You approve a written scope before any painting or drywall work begins.

What areas do you serve?

Nashville and communities across Middle Tennessee, including Franklin, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, Dickson, Springfield and more. See the service areas page for the full list.

Which paint brands do you use?

We use the brand you prefer or help you choose one. We are an independent company and are not affiliated with any paint, tool or drywall maker.

What services do you offer?

Interior and exterior painting, cabinets, wallpaper, decorative finishes, drywall installation and repair, color help, commercial painting and renovation finishing.

Painting

How many coats of paint do I need?

Two coats are common. Big color changes, new drywall or stains may need primer and extra coats.

How do you prepare surfaces?

We clean, scrape, sand, fill holes, caulk gaps and prime where needed. Preparation is what makes paint look smooth and last.

Can you help me choose colors?

Yes. We help with large samples, light checks, undertones and sheen. See our color consultation page.

Do you paint cabinets?

Yes. We degrease, sand, prime and spray or brush a hard enamel for a smooth, durable finish.

Drywall

Can you repair holes and cracks?

Yes. We patch holes of any size, repair cracks, match texture and repaint so the repair disappears.

Do you handle water-damaged drywall?

Yes, once the leak is fixed and the area is dry. We replace damaged board, seal stains and repaint.

Can you match my wall texture?

Yes. We match common textures like orange peel and knockdown and test samples first.

Cost and timeline

What drives the cost of painting?

Surface area, prep and repairs, products, coats, access and schedule. A written estimate shows exactly where the money goes.

How long does painting take?

A typical room takes one to two days, and a whole home takes one to three weeks, depending on size and prep.

How do I compare painting quotes?

Ask each company for the same scope: areas, prep, products, coats and schedule. Our bid scorecard helps you compare.

Care and safety

Is the paint safe for kids and pets?

We can use low-odor, low-VOC products and ventilate well. Keep children and pets away from wet paint until it dries.

What about lead paint in older homes?

Homes built before 1978 may have lead paint. We recommend testing and use safe practices where needed.

How long before I can wash painted walls?

Paint can feel dry within hours but cures for days. Wait a couple of weeks before scrubbing.
